LIFEGUARD THE AHF® PROGRAM for individuals and families with bleeding disorders

The AHF LifeGuard Program is the AHF disease management program for individuals and families with bleeding disorders. . . LifeGuard includes all of the below at no cost to you when you place an order for clotting products.

What LifeGuard includes:

Ancillary materials required to complete an infusion 

winged infusion sets syringes alcohol  gauze pads adhesive bandage tourniquets, cold packs
and more...

 Biohazard sharps containers 

AHF was the first to provide clients with returnable biohazard sharps containers. These containers are returned to an authorized and regulated disposal firm via in postage pre-paid boxes supplied and paid for by AHF.

Travel bag for concentrate 

Each client receives a travel bag to carry concentrate on trips or for daily lifestyle travel with factor. These are similar to a soft-sided briefcase because we recognize the sensitivity of carrying life saving medicines without calling attention to a medical problem.

Overnight and emergency courier service

Factor concentrate billed to your insurance carrier is delivered factor, with no surprise charges.  All concentrate is delivered via overnight carrier service.

Education program for families

AHF has a full library of educational brochures and reprints on bleeding disorders topics; we provide a series of educational brochures to families and clinics at no charge; and we provide each new client family with an binder filled with interesting and important readings.

Safety and Joint support equipment 

Often our pediatric clients have need for joint support equipment, knee or elbow pads, helmets, braces, and other safety equipment. These are provided at no cost.  

A variety of special medications and supplies

Because people with bleeding disorders use so many medications in addition to factor concentrate, AHF also provides a wide variety of these.

At AHF we are keenly aware of the many burdens shouldered by families managing bleeding disorders. Based upon this understanding, AHF is committed to lowering the high cost of care for individuals and families and supporting research for a cure.
