HEMOPHILIA AND
MILD HEMOPHILIA
WHAT TO EXPECT
"Mild hemophilia is a disorder caused by an error in a person's genetic makeup. This genetic makeup is set by a code passed to an unborn child. When the code is working in the right way, it signals a series of steps that help control bleeding by clotting. The steps the body uses to form a clot need proteins that are called clotting factors. A person with mild hemophilia has an error in this clotting code. This error means that some of the factor is missing or not working in the right way.
A child or adult with mild hemophilia can live a healthy and long life. Physical activity is good and will help build strong muscles. Children and adults with mild hemophilia can do most things others can do....To be sure that this is possible, it is good to know a lot about mild hemophilia."
