SAFEGUARD

THE AHF SPECIALIZED PROGRAM FOR HEALTH PLANS

THAT COVER SUBSCRIBERS WITH BLEEDING DISORDERS

SafeGuard is our specialized program for Health Plan Providers (HPP). As the name SafeGuard suggests, an alliance is formed between AHF and the HPP to maximize the benefits and health outcomes for the subscriber/client who has a bleeding disorder. The mutual goal is the reduction of morbidity and mortality through the effective management of care services.

The effective management of hemophilia and related bleeding disorders defies simple summaries. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to discuss the principles of effective care with you.

Though fundamentally characterized by a defect in coagulation requiring hematological follow-up, significant orthopedic, rehabilitation, infectious disease, dermatological, psychosocial, dental, and other support may be required, depending on the timeliness and comprehensiveness of care delivered. In addition, routine medical and surgical interventions may be complicated by the coagulation defect.

SafeGuard provides HPP subscribers with the personalized, prompt, and cost-effective hemophilia disease management services that are only offered by AHF. Since 1989 AHF has focused its energy and service solely on the bleeding disorders community.  We look forward to serving the needs of your subscribers who have hemophilia and related inherited bleeding disorders.

Please call AHF today at 800-243-4621 or by E-mail to find out how the outstanding services of SafeGuard can help your organization and your subscribers to better manage the challenges of bleeding disorders' care.
