THE AHF CLINICGUARD™ PROGRAM -- a Disease Management Program for Hemophilia Treatment Centers In 1995, AHF organized itself to act as a prime sub- contractor for hemophilia treatment centers (HTCs). Through these sub-contracts, AHF has assisted centers in their efforts to benefit from the federal program called the PHS pricing program. This sub-contractor relationship, is our ClinicGuard Program.  Where implemented, ClinicGuard has resulted in increased revenues for HTCs, diminished HTC dependency upon outside funding, and the continuing ability to offer patients outstanding quality care, the most competitive retail prices in the country, and the most reliable home service available in the United States. Under our ClinicGuard sub-contract, your patients are eligible to receive the complete AHF LifeGuard package.  First, and most importantly, we warehouse and supply a full range of clotting factor concentrates and ancillaries delivered to your patients' homes, by overnight service. We are on-call around the clock, 365 days a year, should an emergency arise. Under ClinicGuard, our reimbursement specialists can handle payment planning and reimbursement arrangements with a wide range of insurers. We have well-established working relationships with dozens of private carriers, state-based Medicaid programs, Medicare, HMOs, PPOs, and managed care programs. We have special expertise working with the federal PHS pricing program. As a part of the ClinicGuard contract, AHF staff can take responsibility for establishing and confirming third party coverage for patients. We will work with third party payers to assist them in understanding ClinicGuard and its place within the disease management program. Our staff can undertake medical invoicing, billing for purchased products, third party follow-up, and reimbursement services.
